NOTABLE RECOGNITIONS
2012 Message from Ana Rivera / President & founder
Welcome to 2012 . Last year many companies small and large had to make many decisions. Those of either expanding or downsizing to ultimately closing their doors. We made many strides within our organization, made new friends and yes some foes along the way.
As I reminded many involved in the membership and within the board of directors , the life line of a business or organization is it's people and their commitment to themselves and to others. When I speak of such , I speak of a commitment to communicate , effectively and productively. No organization can't ever promise delivery of anything if there was never a promise. But one thing is for sure, those involved with this organization have had many lessons learned throughout 2011. Successes and mishaps just the same.
We had a first this past year, Miss Polk Latina which should be the young female future of entrepreneurs representing this community.
Proclamations recognizing the work we have done as a small community. Many write ups in the local media. But yet there are those that still want more especially with this terrible circumstance we call the economy. Some still ask us/me why do we not do what other chambers do? Why ? Well if we did we would not be growing and celebrating our FIFTH Year. We are not just a chamber of small businesses , we are a goodwill organization , we are family and we are still a growing group of citizens wanting to be recognized and respected as such. We must stand strong.
Our businesses celebrated during our anniversary luncheon on November 19 were just that, celebrated. They worked hard at working hard. Getting out there to do what was necessary to just get noticed. In real-estate its location, location. In networking is communication , communication and attending , attending. We performed many Grand Openings and several networking events. Some participated some could not. Busy lifestyles was one , but not placing your business growth was second. I hope that this year much will change for those that did not get to the train of gain.
If there is one meeting that you do attend this year let it be the first one of the year on February 3 at 10am. Also read up on what is going on in your local and national political scene. It is of vital importance that you stay informed.
As always we celebrate every entering year with a SALE.Take advantage of what is the best deal in town right now.
God Bless and I look forward to you seeing you all soon.
